Aillwee Cave, Ballyvaughan Co. Clare is Ireland's Premier Showcave and has over 100,000 visitors each year. It is situated in a scenic valley in the Burren in Co. Clare - an area popular with both International and Irish tourists. The Aillwee Cave also houses the Burren Birds of Prey Centre, where there is over 40 different birds of prey.

What better way to train and develop your retail sales and catering experience, customer service skills and gain experience as a member of a professional team. We are seeking friendly, happy and helpful people-who can smile- to become part of our team.

Positions: To be advised shortly.

Qualifications: Leaving Certificate or equivalent desirable. In genreal a desire to be helpful,friendly and flexible is essential - we need people who are interested in providing a high level of customer service local training in each job wil be provided.

Experience: Experience in customer service area- catering or retail would be an advantage. Knowledge of geology and first aid is desirable for Tour Guide positions.

Hours of Work: 5 days per week- we are open 7 days- two days off each week.  The working day is from 10.00 to 6.00p.m.   There will be a trial period and then a Contract of Employment with terms and conditions of work.

Uniform: Uniform shirt/fleece will be provided - you must provide black trousers and professional black comfortable shoes. We require staff to present a neat professional appearance therefore we do not allow the wearing of facial jewellery at work. To comply with health and safety regulations we do not allow smoking in the workplace.

Rate of Pay: Employees are paid an hourly rate depending on the position and experience – in conjunction with the Statutory Minimum Rates of Pay and Statutory Holiday entitlements apply. Average week is 39 hours work.

Vacancies:  From March – December 2012 (For various periods during this time). 

Language: As the majority of our visitors are English speaking, we require staff with a fluent knowledge of English. 

Area: Ballyvaughan is a small village with hotels, pubs, shops and several holiday homes. It is a busy village in the summer but quiet in the wintertime. The local area is scenic, beside the sea and has good hill walking. The nearest towns are Galway (30 miles away) and Ennis (23 miles). There is a daily bus service to Galway.
